UPCOMING EVENTS

  • Members of the Empalme Rotary Club are coming!!

     

    Many of you are familiar with the work we do in Mexico for the Avoidable Blindness Project. The members of the Empalme Rotary Club are our hosts when we are there. A small group of them are coming to visit and thank us for the Paul Harris Fellows we presented them with on our last trip.

     

    We will be having a dinner in their honor on Tuesday, August 12th from 6-9 pm at the Davison Country Club. All Rotarians are invited. Please join us for a steak and chicken cook out with all of the trimmings. The price is $25 per person with a cash bar. Cocktails begin at 6 pm with dinner at 7 pm and a small ceremony with entertainment at 8 pm.

CLUB WELFARE
  • Board Member, Jerry Johnson and his wife Michelle, are proud parents to their first child, Grace Elizabeth, born Friday, June 6th at 9:33 a.m. weighing seven pounds, seven ounces.
  • Our condolences to the family of John Hogue who passed away last week.  John has been a Rotarian with our club for 42 years.  He will be missed!
  • James Franklin’s dad is still missing we continue to ask fellow Rotarians and community members to stay vigilant in the search and whereabouts of Mr. Franklin

 

FUNDRAISING
  • Katherine Saunders quilting expertise on target to raise a bundle of money with her Dragon Fly Quilt that will be auctioned off at next week’s (June 13th)  Rotary Meeting.

 

IMPORTANT DATES/DEADLINES
  • Incoming president Roxanne Cain announced in a Club Committee Directors Meeting that the Club Chairs submit the names of their committee members by June 24th.
  • Don’t miss the last Rotary Club Meeting, June 27, 2008.  The first Rotary Club Meeting of the Rotary Year will be July 11th.
